You may have noticed by now that we are big fans of Twitter here at Integrative Nutrition. It’s a great way to connect with our community online, see what are our students and graduates are up to, and share the latest news and updates from our guest speakers.

We’ve previously shared our Twitter lists to follow, so you can connect with health experts, fitness bloggers, and healthy moms, as well as follow updates in nutrition news and healthy recipes.

Now that you know who to follow, here’s a look at what to follow. Twitter chats are a great way to follow health trends, seek expert advice, and connect with like-minded people. Generally hosted by a specialist, an organization, or a website’s social media team, Twitter chats are characterized by a hashtag and can last anywhere from half an hour to two hours. Usually the host will ask questions throughout the chat to start a discussion, and open the floor for participant questions.

Here are some of the best Twitter chats to join. The best way to participate is by going to http://www.tweetchat.com, then searching for the hashtag. From there you can follow the conversation and write your own tweets directly on the page.
