The Fourth of July is upon us. If you’re in the U.S., it’s time to gather up the family, pack up your picnic basket, grab a Frisbee, and head outside to “ooh and aah” at the fireworks as we celebrate our nation’s freedom. It can be hard to stick to a healthy diet this time of year, but before you shy away from the grilling festivities, remember that an Independence Day picnic doesn’t have to unhealthy!

This year, try out some of our favorite patriotic recipes that will help you and your family celebrate the holiday weekend in a delicious way without overindulging in unhealthy foods.

For the Grill
Grilled Cauliflower Steaks with Roasted Tomatoes
Halibut with Grilled Tomato and Olive Relish
Grilled Filet Mignon with Blueberry Sauce

On the Side

Vegetarian “Cheesesteak” Stuffed Peppers
Gluten Free Cashew Dill Pasta Salad

A Sweet Treat
DIY Vanilla Soft Serve
Vegan Strawberry Rhubarb Hand Pies

What are you cooking this holiday weekend?
