Integrative Nutrition is proud to announce we are partnering with the Jamie Oliver Foundation to inspire a day of action to mark a commitment to food education worldwide.

The first-ever Food Revolution Day is a global day of action to inspire, educate, and empower people everywhere to stand up for real food. Thousands of people worldwide will participate in events to raise awareness on preventing diet-related diseases, and to arm people with the knowledge and tools to make healthier food choices.

Integrative Nutrition students and graduates are organizing grass roots efforts around health and wellness to celebrate Food Revolution Day, in communities, at schools and businesses.

If you’re interested in participating in Food Revolution Day, then check out to find and create local food events where you can show off your skills and knowledge about food with your community through cooking classes, gardening tutorials, sessions about starting a food blog, food tours, or whatever else you’d like to share. You can even sign up to host a dinner party and request to bring food education to a school or workplace. Already groups from 45+ countries have signed up to take action!

Why have a Food Revolution Day?

Did you know that at least 2.8 million adults around the world die each year as a result of being overweight or obese? And even more shocking is the fact, that the majority of the world’s population is more likely to die from obesity than from hunger. Kids are growing up overweight and malnourished from a diet of processed foods. But here’s the good news. Through participating in Food Revolution Day you’ll be able to empower people to make healthier food choices that lead to healthier lives.

One hundred percent of Food Revolution Day net funds raised will go to support food education projects for both children and adults through Jamie Oliver’s foundation projects in the U.S., UK and Australia.

Food Revolution Day will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2012, with events scheduled between May 18-May 20. The weekend of events will bring together an  international community of foodies, chefs, parents and educators, companies and celebrities to unite around their right to healthy food.

Integrative Nutrition Ambassadors in the LA area are holding events at farmer’s markets, creating health and wellness retreats and sponsoring healthy dinners to inspire change and education around real food.
